The Association of Austrian Nature Parks
The Austrian Nature Parks took the opportunity for closer coordination by the cooperation in an umbrella organization. Therefore in autumn 1995 the existing Nature Parks joined together to form the "Association of Austrian Nature Parks" (Verband der Naturparke Österreichs (VNÖ)).
The intent of this association is for qualitative development of the Nature Parks and the realization of common marketing projects.
The president is mayor Mag. Wolfgang Mair while the General Manager is Franz Handler. Franz is a regional adviser of ÖAR Styria and is in charge of the consequent realization of the organizations goals and the professional management.
A team, consisting of representatives of the Nature Parks and specialists from the provinces, develop common projects and enable their realization. The association is financed through a mixture of membership fees, project aid and sponsoring.
