The Nature Parks
To position in equal priority the four pillars of a Nature Park – protection, recreation, education and regional development – is a paramount task of the Nature Parks, serving a dynamic notion of nature preservation. Under the motto “Experience nature – comprehend nature”, visitors and staff members are encouraged to be increasingly aware of their environment, and thus to treat it in an ecologically responsible way.
This is where the social employment project comes in. Persons difficult to place in the labour market are offered the chance to test themselves on a job in an environment of high esteem, commitment and joy of innovation. They are given the possibility to stabilise and develop further. Nature Parks provide services to the general public – and the NuP Aktiv employees make an important contribution to that each and every year, by:
- Conserving typical Lower Austrian natural and cultural landscapes
- Preserving protected unspoiled nature in all its diversity and beauty
- Creating valuable recreational facilities for locals and other visitors
- Expanding tourism facilities
- Maintaining and developing the infrastructure of the Nature Park
- Implementing additional projects in the Nature Park
- Relieving volunteer workers of the Nature Park
