Employment

NuP Aktiv provides 14 jobs (full- and part-time) for a term of up to one year. The workplaces are located in the cooperating Nature Parks. Jobs are available in the following fields:

Crafts and landscape preservation
Nature Park carers carry out activities of landscape preservation and craftsmanship. In the warm seasons, work is mostly done out of doors:

  • Preserving ecologically valuable lands
  • Conserving cultural landscapes
  • Restoring the walking trails (e.g. signposting and maintaining trails, mowing)
  • Establishing educational and theme paths
  • In the winter months, the emphasis is on indoor works:

  • Construction and maintenance activities on the Nature Park’s facilities (e.g. woodworking, ancillary construction works, repair services)
  • Office sector
    Office employees carry out general office tasks, supporting the Nature Park’s team in the following fields:

  • Administrative and organisational tasks of the Nature Park
  • Producing information materials (leaflets, brochures, programmes)
  • Organising and holding events in the Nature Park
  • Service activities in the Nature Park facilities
    These activities comprise:

  • Selling goods in the shops of the Nature Parks
  • Rendering services in the cafeteria of the visitors’ centre
  • Cleaning works
  • Attending to visitors in the information centre
  • Visitor services
    Nature Park custodians are involved in developing the concept of Nature Parks:

  • Designing concepts and implementing projects4
  • Organising information events, excursions, guided tours
  • Attending to visitors, office organisation, public relations, selling goods in the shops of the Nature Parks
  • Who is eligible to participate?
    There are two preconditions to participate in NuP Aktiv: to be resident in Lower Austria, and to be registered as job-seeker with the labour office. Both criteria given, the competent regional branch of the labour office decides in detail on funding eligibility.
