Zillertaler Alpen

High mountains to touch

This Nature Park is embedded in the high mountain landscape of the Central Alps in the furthest most remote part of the Zillertal, on the border of South Tyrol and Salzburg. The park creates a peaceful zone compared to the higher developed parts of the Zillertal region. Beside numerous huts between high summits and white glaciers, alps, mountain pastures and bright Swiss stone pine forests invite to hike and stay.

Facilities and offers:

  • Nature Park house in the mountaineer's village Ginzling – info office and exhibition “Gletscher.Welten”, library, climbing path
  • Nature Park exhibitions “Kultur.Land(schafts).Welten“ in the Mitterstall Brandberg and “ Steinbock.Welten“ in the Zillergrund (in each case free entrance)
  • Natur(park)er.leben - program with guided tours (May – Okt.)
  • Hut trekking on the Berliner Höhenweg
  • Trails like the “Glacier trail Berliner Hütte“, “Lea names trail Zillergrund“, “Mountain swath trail Brandberg”
