Tiroler Lech
The last savage
In the Northwest of Tyrol, the Lechtal is presenting one of the most indigenous and beautiful landscapes of the Alps.
Entirely in the northern limestone Alps situated, the nature park includes next to the valley also parts of the surrounding mixed forests (Bergmischwälder). The Lech and its anabranches lend the landscape its character since it is the last unharmed wild river system of the North alps. Another particularity are the spacious lowland forests which function as the last hideaway for various animals and plants such as the little ringed plover (Flussregenpfeifer) or the orchid Lady´s slipper (Frauenschuh).
