How to get there

The Nature Park encloses nearly the whole Karwendel massif and is transnational between Austria and Bavaria. The information centers are in Hall and Hinterriß.
Nature Park communities in Austria: Absam, Achenkirch, Eben am Achensee, Gnadenwald, Innsbruck, Jenbach, Reith bei Seefeld, Rum, Scharnitz, Seefeld, Stans, Terfens, Thaur, Vomp, Zirl
With public transportation:
1) By train (Karwendelbahn) from Innsbruck to Scharnitz (stops along the border of the Nature Park: Jenbach, Stans, Terfens, Hall in Tirol, Rum, Innsbruck, Reith bei Seefeld, Seefeld).

2) Starting point of the hiking-tour:
By bus (Nr. DE) from Innsbruck or Hall in Tirol to the stop “Bettelwurfsiedlung”.

3) East of the Nature Park:
By train (Achenseebahn) from Jenbach to the lake „Achensee“ or by bus (Nr. 4080) from Jenbach to Achenkirch.

Tip:
Achenseeschifffahrt: In the lake “Achensee” a navigation line operates. Informations www.tirol-schiffahrt.at.
Karwendel-Bergbahn: The Karwendel incline is in Pertisau. It goes up to the area of the mountain Zwölferkopf 950 m to 1500 m as well as to the east edge of the Nature Park Karwendel with the mountains Bärenkopf 1991 m and Stanserjoch 2102 m. Informations www.karwendel-bergbahn.at.

By car:
Nature Park communities in the west:
1) From the south: A12 – exit Zirl Ost – E533 towards Seefeld – following the street through Zirl, Reith, Seefeld in Tirol and Gießenbach – shortly before the German border one reaches Scharnitz
2) From the North / Munich: E533 towards Austria/Innsbruck – through Mittenwald – shortly after the Austrian border one reaches Scharnitz
Info center in Hinterriß:
The access is only possible from Germany.
1) From the west: E533 – at Wallgau eastwards to Vorderriß – turn right – following the street to Hinterriß
2) From the east: B181 – at the hydroelectric dam Sylvenstein westwards – B307 – following the street to Vorderriß – turn left – following the street to Hinterriß
Info center in Hall:
A12 both directions – Exit Hall or Hall Mitte – Tiroler Straße (crossing the river Inn) to the crossing Unterer Stadtplatz – right – after about 50 meters again right (one way) in the Lendgasse
