Buchberg
Small mountain with a wide view
The Mattseer Buchberg (801 m) raises over the Salzburger Seenland in an impressive manner. From the summit one overlooks the gentle-hilly foothills of the Alps, as well as the gruff Northern Limestone Alps with a view of 120 mountaintops from the Traunstein to the Wilder Kaiser. On the Buchberg nature and culture are tied together on the narrowest; the summit area is one of the oldest settlement places in the Salzburger Flachgau.
