Türkensturz
The quiet pearl of the Pitten valley
The name of this somewhat mountainous Nature Park, Türkensturz, arose from a true story during the Turkish wars. The romantic ruin at Scheiblingkirchen also holds the same name. The mosaic landscape of woods and rocks is further enriched by the dry rock steppe areas with their unique flora such as dictamnus (white dittany). The archduke Johann, who was known as being especially connected to nature, greatly valued this area and its people.
