Föhrenberge
Rendezvous with the ground squirrles and umbrella pines!
The Föhrenberge is an extensive woodland area of the limestone Vienna Woods that reaches out from Mödling to the southern border of Vienna. They form the backdrop for the active Nature Park Sparbach. Characteristics of this area are the umbrella-like black pines and the numerous dry meadows, such as the Perchtoldsdorfer Heide, which host a high number of ground squirrels.
