Mayors conference in the Nature Park Mürzer Oberland
Referees from the Austrian Nature Park municipalities introduced projects and told which benefit their municipalities gain from the participation in a Nature Park. Experiences and information were exchanged and successful stories from the Nature Parks were presented.
Obm. Stefan Teveli (Nature Park Mürzer Oberland) introduced successful projects of the Nature Park Mürzer Oberland. A special example was the Roßlochklamm which was also distinguished as the most creative theme trail of Austria and was presented with a short film to the participants. The Nature Park School Dobratsch as an educational institution in a Nature Park was introduced by Mag. Robert Heuberger (Regionalmanagement Kärnten). The elementary school Arnoldstein is the first school of Austria which was distinguished with the title Nature Park School. The main topic of Bgm. Johann Obermayer (Kulm am Zirbitz/Nature Park Zirbitzkogel-Grebenzen) was nature conservation; he told the story of the rescue of the „Dobler Moos“. It should be destroyed by peat dismantling and became saved by a quick and efficient initiative of Bgm. Obermayer. Bgm. Mag. Wolfgang Mair (Waidhofen/Nature Park Buchenberg) reported in cooperation with Ing. Andreas Plachy (Nature Park Buchenberg) about Nature Parks as recreation areas and introduced cooperations between municipalities and Nature Parks. The Nature Park was also presented with a short film to the participants. From the Nature Park Landseer Berge in the Burgenland Erwin Pogats reported about the integration of the residents at the example of the project „Blühender Naturpark“, in which the Nature Park should be presented not only to the guests, but also to the residents.
In the coffee-break and after the conference the participants had long discussions in which different positions were exchanged and problems and their solutions or solution attempts were discussed.
