Convention "Grass in the ear– Mud between the toes": Environmental Education in Nature Parks
The Association of Austrian Nature Parks worked on the subject - the educational function of Nature Parks - in several workshops with participation of experts of different disciplines and representatives of the Nature Parks in the period 2001/02. Other Workshops devoted themselves to the points: experience guidance in Nature Parks, experience tours, digital nature experiences or marketing.

Environmental Education in Nature Parks "
The Association of Austrian Nature Parks organized in cooperation with the Oö. Akademie für Umwelt und Natur a conference on the subject “environmental education” from the 8th to the 9th of November 02 in Spital a. Pyhrn. With more than 90 participants from several federal states and Switzerland the conference was visited very well.
The conference program offered to the participants presentations and workshops with the main focus on experience guidance in Nature Parks, experience tours, marketing and Nature Park schools as well as excursions for the practical implementation of the subject.

Press conference and tribute to LH-Stv. a.D. Konsulent Hochmair
On Wednesday, 6th of November 2002, a press conference was held in the Linzer Ursulinenhof on the subject of environmental education. Landtagspräsidentin Gerda Weichsler presented the brochure "" Grass in the ear – Mud between the toes" and showed the possibilities of the Austrian Nature Parks development.
At the 40-year celebration of the Austrian Nature Parks on the 22nd of June 2002 LH-Stv. a.D. Konsulent Fritz Hochmair couldn´t be present. So the tribute to his work for the Nature Park idea was held on this occasion and he also got an honorary price.
