Alp farming 2020 - Alps in the area of conflict between nature conservation, tourism, tradition and utilization


On the 18th of October in the Nature Park Weißbach a convention with the title “Alp farming 2020 - Alps in the area of conflict between nature conservation, tourism, tradition and utilization” took place.

The convention was opened by Bgm. Josef Michael Hohenwarter, Andreas Hofer (Land Salzburg) and Franz Handler (Association of Austrian Nature Parks). Then Christine Klenovec, manager of the Nature Park Weißbach, introduced the Nature Park.

After that together with professional experts the subject alp farming was discussed. Main topics were nature conservation, tourism, tradition and utilization. The subjects of the presentations were deepened in the afternoon in a World Cafe.

On the 19th of October was an excursion to the Kallbrunnalm to finalize the convention. There the cheese hut was visited and afterwards the Hundsfußalm with a delightful alp snack.
